Joss Sackler, Founder

Joss Sackler is the Founder of LBV

(French for: Les bouledogues vigneronnes or 'Wine-Making Bulldogs'). LBV is a non-partisan, non-conformist and open-minded culture club for women to celebrate wine, food, culture and design via a series of ongoing calendar events.

Sackler is the daughter of Canadian diplomats, mother of three and lives in New York City. Her wide range of interests and achievements is diverse and unique. She holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics and is currently serving her term as the President of the Columbia School Linguistic Society, an academic association who framework she worked under during her doctoral studies. She speaks four languages: English, French, Spanish and Farsi. Additionally, Joss is a threat assessor by training and her research focuses on the risk assessment of violent threats made by the Mexican Cartels. Joss is an avid adventurist--she has completed four marathons including New York, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles and the Hamptons. She is a target shooter, a rock climber, and a mountaineer. She has successfully summited two of the worlds seven summits (Mt. Elbrus, Carstensz) and a failed attempt at Mt. McKinley.

Joss is a Certified Sommelier (level 2 of 4) with the Master Court of Sommeliers. Sackler immediately recognized a void in the existing social structure of New York wine societies, which resulted in the launch of her own initiative, LBV. LBV's nascence occurred in reaction to the notable fact that women were highly underrepresented in traditional wine societies.

During New York Fashion Week in February 2019, LBV became the first private community to launch a direct-to-consumer, apparel collection. LBV care of Joss Sackler, representative of her everyday life. The objective of the collection was to offer her members a further sense of community. In July 2019, Joss appointed couture designer Elizabeth Kennedy as Creative Director of the brand in an effort to create an All-American Ready-to-Wear fashion label inspired by the LBV members' multi-faceted accomplishments. The LBV care of Joss Sackler Spring/Summer 2020 under Elizabeth Kennedy will debut during September 2019 New York Fashion Week.
